Shingobee has begun work on one of our most interesting, unique interior renovation projects in recent memory.

Clockwork Active Media, a creative Internet media design company, has been looking to expand its office space, and leased space in a run-down industrial building near its current offices in northeast Minneapolis. They engaged Shea Design to develop an interior design to renovate the building into a creative space for their staff. Shea previously designed the renovation of the former Rayvic auto service station into Clockwork’s current office space.

The original building was built in the 1920's as a sheet metal fabricating shop.

Following building shell improvements by the landlord (Apiary LLC), Shingobee recently started work on the interior build-out of the 6,000 square foot building. Work has begun with opening the ceiling to the old timber frame structure, which will remain exposed in the new interior space. The project will include construction of partitions, workstations, finishes, stairs, a kitchen, and restrooms.

Work is scheduled to continue through November. Keep an eye on this blog for updates as the construction progresses. It will be interesting to see what this unique building becomes!
