The Dickinson Public Works building is scheduled to be ready for move-in in July. Last week, a group of students took a field trip to the building to learn about what the Dickinson Public Works department does for their city. They learned about the building and the equipment and people it houses.

The tour was part of National Public Works week, and consisted of almost 200 elementary school children.

The building, currently under construction by Shingobee, is a $16 million, 96,000 square foot building. The new building was a necessity for the growing city, which has quickly outgrown the two current public works buildings. The new building will be larger than both of them combined.
