Shingobee provided design-build construction services for this new branch facility for U.S. Bank in 2009. The project consisted of new construction of a single-story 5,000-square-foot building with a four-lane drive-up canopy, including parking and circulation for 30 vehicles on a 1.3-acre site.
The project achieved Gold level certification in the LEED® Green Building Rating System. The design and construction of the building incorporated numerous energy efficient and sustainable strategies, including site selection in a developed area with public transportation, efficient stormwater design, roofing with a high solar reflectance index, water efficient landscaping, water use reduction, efficient HVAC systems, use of certified wood building components, indoor air quality control, low-emitting interior materials, and daylight harvesting with skylights. Shingobee was responsible for a variety of requirements during construction to achieve certification, including construction waste management, and use of recycled and regional materials.
